Cleveland Construction, Inc. announces that the company has been honored with an Excellence in Construction Award by the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Northern Ohio Chapter for its work on the Schofield Kimpton & Residences, a historic renovation and adaptive reuse project in downtown Cleveland.
The Schofield Kimpton & Residences is a 14-story, 170,000 square-foot building that was restored to and developed into a mixed-use property. These elements include a 122-room Kimpton Hotel on floors 2-7, 52 luxury residential apartment units on floors 8-14, a ground floor specialty restaurant, and retail space.
The project was also selected as the 'Project of the Year' due to the project’s complexity and quality. The organization commended Cleveland Construction for the team’s ability to overcome challenges, implement innovative quality control programs and for its detailed project specific safety plan that was executed on the project.
Cleveland Construction also received a Gold-level STEP (Safety Training & Evaluation Process) Award during the ceremony for the company's safety performance and commitment to jobsite safety. The STEP program provides analysis of the company's safety and loss prevention programs, measures safety program improvements, and provides performance recognition.
The Associated Builders and Contractor of Northern Ohio hosted their annual Excellence In Construction & Safety Awards Ceremony on October 28th at the Aloft Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio. The ceremony honored the year’s most outstanding construction projects and contractors for their remarkable achievements in leadership, safety, innovation and diversity in Northeast Ohio.
