Exterior Canopy and Acoustical Ceiling Contractor for the New Landside Terminal Building Orlando International Airport (MCO)

Cleveland Construction is performing the exterior metal canopy and acoustical ceilings package as a contractor under the Turner-Kiewit joint venture on the construction of the Landside Terminal Building at the Orlando International Airport’s new South Terminal Complex located in Orlando, Florida.

This $1.8-billion project includes a new world-class terminal building, ticketing and security areas, 16 airside international/domestic swing gates, rental car facilities, a parking garage expansion, a ground support equipment facility, and associated roadway and bridge structures.

The 5-level, 816,000 SF Landside Terminal Building will feature passenger arrival and departure processing and commercial curbside space. The building’s 1,000-foot-long boulevard features an innovative skylight that diffuses natural light throughout the space.

Several civic spaces along the boulevard are designed to enhance the passenger experience by providing comfortable seating, shopping, and a new state-of-the-art media experience. The project also includes several indoor and outdoor courtyards with plants and trees creating a more sustainable terminal building.
