Construction Begins on New Aldi Grocery Store in Avon Park
Avon Park, FL – Construction has officially begun on a new Aldi grocery store in Avon Park, marking the latest step in Aldi's ongoing expansion across the region. Cleveland Construction, Inc. has been contracted to build-out the new store within a 52,000 square-foot retail building that formerly housed a Winn-Dixie. This build-out is part of Aldi’s acquisition and rebranding strategy to convert former Winn-Dixie locations in the Flordia region to new Aldi grocery stores.
The build-out involves extensive renovations to create a 22,000 square-foot grocery space tailored to Aldi’s design and facility standards. Major construction activities will include selective demolition, new steel framing and decking, drywall partitions, new MEP’s, plumbing, and updates to the building’s façade and roofing. The remaining 30,000 square feet of the property will be available for lease to a future tenant.
Construction is taking place in an active shopping center, so Cleveland Construction is implementing safety and scheduling measures to minimize disruption to neighboring businesses. The project is scheduled to be completed in March 2025.
