Construction Continues on Cincinnati’s Sky Central Project under New Ownership

The historic Union Central Tower in Cincinnati, now renamed Sky Central, is on track for completion in Summer 2025, with phased occupancy for the first apartment tenants coming soon.

Cincinnati, Ohio - Cleveland Construction, Inc., the construction manager overseeing the adaptive reuse of the historic Union Central Tower, now renamed Sky Central, remains fully committed to successfully converting this iconic building. As reported in the Cincinnati Business Courier on October 22, 2024, ownership of the project has transitioned to Stanley Dickson, a Detroit-based entrepreneur, who has brought new energy to the development. The project remains on track for completion by June 2025.

“Our construction team welcomes Stan Dickson's leadership as the new sole owner and we're eager to continue our partnership in transforming Sky Central into one of Cincinnati’s premier residential developments,” said Dan Dietrich, Cleveland Construction’s Vice President. “The historic nature of this 31-story building has presented complex challenges throughout, but we are well-positioned to complete this significant historic conversion.”

In addition to Sky Central, Cleveland Construction is also partnering with Stan Dickson to complete Skyline 776, another adaptive reuse project in downtown Cleveland.

With our extensive experience managing large-scale adaptive reuse projects, Cleveland Construction is well-prepared to address the complexities of redeveloping historic structures. As Mr. Dickson mentioned in the Cincinnati Business Courier article, historic buildings often experience unforeseen challenges, but our expertise in historic preservation ensures that we can effectively address them without compromising the timeline.

Sky Central will feature nearly 300 high-end apartments, playing a key role in revitalizing downtown Cincinnati.

We remain dedicated to maintaining open communication with all trade partners and reaffirm our commitment to the successful completion of Sky Central. Our objective is not only to meet deadlines but to deliver a project that enhances Cincinnati’s skyline while preserving the historical importance of this iconic building.
