Interns Complete Summer 2024 Program, Celebrate with College Scholarship Awards

Cleveland Construction’s Summer 2024 Internship Program concluded last week with a final showcase of our interns' hard work and growth. As their final task, Interns from our Cleveland and Charlotte offices gathered at our Mentor, Ohio headquarters to deliver presentations on their internship experiences to company executives. Interns competed for scholarship awards, highlighting the knowledge and skills they gained over the past ten weeks.

This year’s group was referred to as one of the most dedicated and serious groups of interns the company has had, and their presentations reflected that commitment. The judges faced a tough challenge ranking the interns, as each presentation highlighted their efforts in the office and on jobsite. The judges announced the top three presenters on Friday, awarding scholarships to recognize their achievements.

First Place: Lucas Orians

Lucas Orians, a project management intern from Kent State University, received first prize. His presentation not only exceeded expectations but also provided valuable feedback and a unique perspective on his summer experience. Lucas was awarded a $5,000 scholarship for his outstanding work during the Summer shown in his presentation.

Second Place: Luka Begovic

Luka Begovic, a Kent State University construction management student, was awarded second place. His dedication throughout the summer and impressive presentation earned him a $3,000 scholarship to support his upcoming school year.

Third Place: Grant Lannert

Grant Lannert, a senior at Appalachian State University who worked in our Charlotte office this summer, secured third place. His presentation earned him a $2,000 scholarship, which will assist him in completing his construction management degree.

During the scholarship award ceremony, Keith E. Ziegler, Cleveland Construction’s President of General Contracting Operations, extended a thank you to all our interns for their hard work and contributions. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed, and their presence will be missed.
