Lowes Foods Renovation in Johns Island Now Complete
Cleveland Construction, Inc. is pleased to announce the successful completion of the interior renovation of the 42,497 square-foot KJ’s Market Store, now transformed into Lowes Foods #293 in Johns Island, SC. The project achieved substantial completion on March 12, 2026, allowing the store to open its doors to the public following a VIP gathering the evening prior.
The renovation included phased demolition and comprehensive upgrades to key areas such as the sales floor, deli, restrooms, meat department, and customer service spaces. Cleveland Construction managed the 32-week project with precision, conducting work primarily during off-hours to ensure the store remained operational throughout construction.
Through strategic coordination with store operations, the team minimized disruptions while maintaining strict safety protocols for customers and staff.
The project met its substantial completion deadline, enabling the operator to finalize preparations. Cleveland Construction is now addressing final punch list items and conducting Fire Suppression inspections, with final completion on March 20, 2026.
This renovation demonstrates Cleveland Construction’s ability to deliver high-quality projects efficiently and on schedule. The successful completion of Lowes Foods #293 shows our ability to work within an active grocery store and coordinate multiple trades overnight.
