General Contractor for the Renovations to Villages at Franklin Crossing

Cleveland Construction, Inc. was the construction manager to renovate an existing multi-building apartment complex spanning over 360,000 square feet in Kent, Ohio.

The LIHTC renovation project consisted of two phases. Phase one included interior apartment updates to one building with 12 units. Phase two included interior and exterior updates to an additional 8 apartment buildings and a new 5,000 square-foot community building. The apartment units were updated with new flooring, drywall, finishes, kitchen cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, and appliances. New entry doors and interiors door we also installed on all units.

The existing HVAC and lighting for the building and apartment units were replaced with energy-star rated equipment. New plumbing fixtures were rated to be low flow.

The interior of each building's common spaces were upgraded throughout with new finishes and lighting in the stairs, hallways, and laundries). Each building's entry area was upgraded with entry controls and security cameras.

The buildings' exterior was upgraded with new covered entryways, masonry repairs, new roofs, new windows, new siding, and architectural gable overbuilds.

The apartment complex site was also modified and reconfirmed to accommodate a new 5,000 square-foot community building, additional resident parking, new dumpster enclosures, and a picnic pavilion converted into a community garden.
