10-Phase Walmart Remodel & Expansion Completed in 12 Months
Cleveland Construction, Inc. performed as the general contractor for the expansion and complete remodel of an existing 123,066 square-foot Walmart Supercenter #3541-04 big-box retail store located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
The project included a 37,580 square-foot grocery center and sales floor expansion along with the addition of a new exterior vestibule and garden center. The entire 160,646 square-foot retail store was also completely remodeled.
To ensure the safest conversion with the least possible disruption to the stores' customers, Cleveland Construction completed the construction over ten phases during a 12-month period while the store remained open to the public.
Additional scope of work included improving the overall layout of the store with wider aisles; renovating the pharmacies, bathrooms, checkout areas and customer service, creating new office space; and updating flooring, lighting and paint throughout the stores.
The new grocery area includes a deli, bakery, and produce areas, as well as new energy-efficient refrigeration units. The site work now includes additional parking areas and landscaping to accommodate the new expansion.
