Construction Begins on Buckeye Elementary School Addition and Renovation
Cleveland Construction, Inc. joined Riverside Local Schools, ThenDesign Architecture (TDA), and community leaders for a celebratory groundbreaking to mark the official start of construction at Buckeye Elementary School.
The ceremony marked the beginning of a significant expansion and modernization project designed to support growing student enrollment and improve campus safety.
Cleveland Construction is serving as the construction manager at risk for this project, managing all construction activities from preconstruction planning through final completion. RFC Contracting is serving as the school district's owner's representative.
The project features a new two-story classroom wing with 12 classrooms and a full-size gymnasium. This permanent construction replaces the school’s current auxiliary trailers, bringing all learning spaces under one roof and allowing the district to consolidate kindergarten through fourth-grade students from other area elementary schools into a single facility. The scope of work also includes expanding the parking areas to improve traffic flow for staff and visitors, as well as relocating the school's existing gymnasium.
Construction is underway as of July 2026, with completion scheduled for August 2027.
This project follows Cleveland Construction’s successful delivery of 2 prior fast-track projects for Riverside Local Schools. In December 2025, the company completed a 4,500 square-foot Career Technical Education (CTE) classroom addition at Riverside High School ahead of schedule.
We are proud to continue our partnership with Riverside Local Schools and look forward to delivering these modern educational facilities for the benefit of students, educators, and the entire school community.
