New CarMax Auto Superstore General Contractor
Cleveland Construction performed as the general contractor for the construction of a new CarMax Auto Superstore #7165 located in Warrensville Heights, Ohio.
The project included a 44,760 square-foot CMU and structural steel building that connected both the sales and service areas, a 303-car display area, a separate 3,708 square-foot car wash facility, and 15 acres of site work.
This is the first CarMax dealership to be completed with the company's new prototype design. The new design features include sales floor updates, presentation drive revisions, and exterior façade upgrades that utilized less ACM panels than the previous design standards.
The project encountered difficulties due to an abundance of rain and record-breaking freezing temperatures causing delays to the project schedule. Our team overcame these difficulties by rephasing the construction schedule, diligently working through the tough weather conditions, and weekly coordination meetings with the project team that resulted in an on-time turnover to CarMax.
