Homewood Suites Hotel Louisville Completed 80 Days Early
Cleveland Construction, Inc. was the Construction Manager at-Risk for a new Homewood Suites by Hilton Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky, near the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. This new 5-story, 100,253 square-foot extended-stay hotel project included 134 guestrooms and an outdoor pool for guests.
The building construction consisted of a structural system with a combination of precast concrete, load-bearing CMU walls, and steel framing. Ground improvements and landscaping were also required as part of this project.
This extended-stay hotel features a first-level lobby with guest amenities, including a lodge with a breakfast pantry, fitness center, meeting room, business center, hospitality offices, and an outdoor pool with brick-clad screening.
Our team experienced unforeseen site conditions including groundwater, below-grade concrete, and below-grade storage tanks that were partially full of unknown contaminants. Our team worked with the owner and design team to minimize the cost implications of the project and develop a system to comply with Kentucky’s Brownfield Property Redevelopment and Re-use Program (“Brownfield Program”).
Cleveland Construction reached substantial completion of the new hotel 80 days earlier than originally scheduled. Our team accomplished the early completion of the project through proactive trade contractor relationships and detailed scheduling.
