Historic Apartment Building Renovation Construction Manager

Cleveland Construction, Inc. served as the Construction Manager for the historic renovation of the St. Regis Apartments in Kansas City, Missouri.

Originally built in 1890, this 9-story, 55,900 square-foot, 85-unit apartment building underwent a complete interior renovation and exterior rehabilitation utilizing Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC).

All 85 apartment units were completely renovated and reconstructed with new demising walls, finishes, flooring, kitchens, and bathrooms. The historic door frames leading into each apartment unit were repaired and restored. The unit doors were replaced with replicas that matched the original doors and the historic door frames.

The building's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems were completely replaced, and the passenger elevator was refurbished. The building's aluminum storefront entrance was also removed and replaced with a new entry that replicated the original appearance of the structure.

Renovations to the building exterior included the repair and restoration of the existing brick veneer and terra cotta façade. Finally, the windows were replaced to replicate the original historical style.
