Tru By Hilton Hotel Completed 50 Days Early & $50K Under Budget
Cleveland Construction, Inc. was the general contractor for the ground-up construction of a TRU by Hilton hotel located in Macon, Georgia. The four-story, 45,000 SF hotel is comprised of 101 guest rooms ranging from king to double queen units.
The first floor included construction of the hotel amenities areas with an energetic and vibrant lobby, dubbed the "Command Center," surrounded by a breakfast area, dining area, lounge, work zone, and game area. This hotel also includes a personal fitness center, a 24/7 pantry, employee offices, a breakroom, and a laundry room.
The building structure comprises of a combination of structural steel and load-bearing cold-form framing on the 1st floor and load-bearing cold-form metal studs with a hollow-core precast plank for the floor system on floors 2-4. The building envelope included aluminum and storefront windows with an exterior insulation and finish system (EIFS) and a TPO roof.
Site work included grading, drainage, erosion control, installing new utilities, asphalt paving for guest parking, concrete sidewalks around the hotel, curb and gutter, and landscaping on the 2-acre site.
The original construction schedule allotted for a 12-month duration. As construction progressed, we continued to work with our trade partners to find ways to improve sequencing activities to save time without sacrificing quality or increasing costs. Through these creative scheduling solutions, our team was able to reach substantial completion 4-weeks early.
Cleveland Construction received its Certificate of Substantial Completion for the construction management of this new Tru By Hilton Hotel 50 days early and $50,000 under budget through proactive subcontractor relationships and scheduling.
