Cleveland Construction Starts Historic Redevelopment for 15-Story Ritz-Carlton Savannah
Cleveland Construction's construction management team has officially begun demolition and mobilization for the historic adaptive reuse of the Ritz-Carlton Savannah. The scope of work includes managing the office-to-hotel building conversion of a historic 15-story high-rise into a luxury multi-use property featuring 160 luxury hotel rooms and suites.
Originally a commercial structure located at Johnson Square in Savannah’s downtown financial district, the building is being restored and reimagined to preserve its historic charm while being redeveloped for world-class hospitality use. The 15-story project, situated at 2 and 14 East Bryan Street, is currently undergoing interior demolition, including drywall removal and ceiling tile abatement through the 15th floor.

Once complete, the Ritz-Carlton Savannah will offer luxury accommodations and high-end amenities, including a signature restaurant and bar, a lobby bar and café, and versatile meeting and event spaces. A highlight of the redevelopment is the rooftop pool, lounge, and terrace, which will be accompanied by a full-service spa and a 24/7 wellness fitness center.
Cleveland Construction is overseeing all aspects of the historic adaptive reuse construction, ensuring the property meets modern luxury standards and improved operational requirements, such as modernized elevators and upgraded utilities. The team is maintaining a tour-ready standard throughout the process to ensure the site remains clean and professional while delivering this landmark project.
Priority Environmental Serv, NexGen Plumbing, and Power Design are currently onsite managing demolition, plumbing, and make-safe electrical activities.
