Riverview Elementary Classroom Addition

2-story, 8-Classroom Elementary School Addition

Cleveland Construction, Inc. served as the Construction Manager at-Risk for this 11,000 square-foot, 2-story, 8-classroom addition at Riverview Elementary School in Painesville, Ohio.

Located on the west end of the existing school, the addition connected to the current Academic Wing and included 8 new elementary classrooms, two small-group gathering spaces, and a mechanical closet.

Contracted by Riverside Local Schools, the project expanded the school’s instructional capacity to accommodate a growing student population. The new addition matched the existing structure, featuring load-bearing masonry walls and hollowcore precast planks for the second floor.

The roof system incorporated steel joists and metal decking, while exterior materials combined brick and metal panels to complement the existing building. A TPO roof membrane was installed for weather protection and visual consistency.

Construction began immediately after the 2024–2025 school year, with careful coordination to minimize disruption to school operations.

The project was completed on time and $500,000 under budget, with the savings returned to the district.

The new classrooms were officially turned over to Riverside Local Schools on January 5, 2026.
