Healthcare Interior Trades Contractor

Cleveland Construction, Inc. performed as the interior trades contractor under Messer Corporation to construct a new 8-story, 174,000 SF medical office building for the Novak Center for Children's Health in Louisville, Kentucky. The new medical office building combines the affiliated general pediatric and specialty clinics of the Health Science Centers of the University of Louisville into a single location.

The technology-rich outpatient center, designed to provide patient-centric multidisciplinary care, includes research areas, imaging, diagnostic labs, a conference suite, a rooftop garden, and the Wendy L. Novak Diabetes Care Center.

The facility's exterior façade is comprised of curved lines and stacked features, terra cotta cladding in bright colors, textured silver metal panels, and large expanses of glass that provide panoramic views of the surrounding hospital, university, and city. In addition, different glazing techniques were used to reduce solar heat gain and glare, with the highest performing types located on the east, west, and upper south sides of the building that aren't shaded by other structures.

Cleveland Construction's scope of work included furnishing and installing cold-formed metal framing, drywall, thermal insulation, direct-applied finishing system, joint sealants, glass-fiber-reinforced gypsum, acoustical ceilings, and radiation protection throughout the new medical building.
