Residence Inn Construction Completed in Cleveland's University Circle District

A new Residence Inn by Marriott hotel in University Circle adjacent to Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Clinic Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio opened to the public today with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony. The dedication took place at the hotel site and was attended by the developers, city officials, and our construction management team.

The new 8-story, 131,000 square-foot Residence Inn by Marriott was constructed with cast-in-place concrete foundations, a slab-on-grade structural steel podium, structural cold-formed metal framing and joists, and a metal deck. The 175-unit, extended stay hotel features a swimming pool, brick veneer, metal wall panels, aluminum sunshades and framed entrances, and TPO membrane and vegetative roof systems.

The hotel, which broke ground in October 2017, was developed by DelMonte Hotel Group and designed by Meyers + Associates Architecture. Cleveland Construction provided construction management services for the project. “It was a pleasure working with the DelMonte, Rockbridge, and the Meyers Design Team on this Residence Inn project and we look forward to future opportunities with all parties,” said Mike Swalley, Senior Project Manager at Cleveland Construction.
