Walls and Ceilings Contractor for the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center
Cleveland Construction, Inc. performed as the walls and ceilings contractor under Clark Construction for the construction of a new 620,000 SF University of Maryland (UM) Capital Region Medical Center in Largo, Maryland.
The new state-of-the-art medical center was built on a 26-acre site and included an 11-story main patient care tower with 205 private inpatient rooms, a 20-bed short treatment area, a 45-bay emergency department, 8 operating rooms, and 2 rooftop helipads.
The new facility also contained medical office space, an ambulatory care center, and a 15-bed specialty pediatric hospital.
Cleveland Construction’s scope of work included installing interior and exterior metal framing, hanging and finishing drywall, and acoustical and specialty ceilings throughout the entire building.
The Capital Regional Medical Center was designed to achieve LEED Silver certification, and the project was completed 10 days ahead of schedule in October 2020.
