Walls and Ceilings Contractor for the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center
Cleveland Construction, Inc. is performing as the walls and ceilings contractor under Clark Construction for the construction of a new 620,000 SF Capital Regional Medical Center in Largo, Maryland.
Upon completion, the new medical center will replace the existing University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center (UM PGHC) in Cheverly, Maryland and provide residents of Prince George’s County with trauma, critical, and surgical care, as well as emergency medical services.
The state-of-the-art complex will be built on a 26-acre site and include an 11-story main patient care tower with 205 private inpatient rooms, a 20-bed short treatment area, a 45-bay emergency department, 8 operating rooms, and 2 rooftop helipads.
The new facility will also contain medical office space, an ambulatory care center, and a 15-bed specialty pediatric hospital that will be operated by Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital.
Cleveland Construction’s scope of work includes the installation of interior and exterior metal framing, drywall hanging and finishing, and acoustical and specialty ceilings throughout the entire building.
The Capital Regional Medical Center is designed to achieve LEED Silver certification and is scheduled to open in Spring 2021.
