Interior Trades Contractor for Walter Reed National Military Medical Center P-114 Addition/Alteration
Cleveland Construction, Inc. is the interior trades contractor for an interior remodel and new replacement hospital totaling over 591,464 square feet at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, subcontracted with Clark Construction.
Our scope of work will be performed over 4 phases (two preparatory phases temp partitions and demo and two construction phases) plus two additional phases to remodel two adjacent buildings. The current facility will remain fully operational during all construction phases, and the new replacement building will tie together and replace five existing buildings. The new facilities will include 4 MRIs, a cafeteria, and an auditorium. The construction schedule will span over six years.
Cleveland Construction's scope includes, interior and exterior metal stud framing, exterior sheathing, drywall, drywall finishing, insulation, acoustical ceilings, specialty ceilings, access panel installation, firestopping, X-Ray shielding, implementation of ICRA requirements for preparatory work, backing/blocking, acoustical sealant, labeling of fire-rated partitions, installation of expansion joint covers, hanger wirers for cubical curtain track and cement stucco. The exterior framing is a delegated design, which must be designed to accomidate wind and blast loads.
