Cleveland Construction Celebrates Hotel Topping Out in Louisville

Louisville, Kentucky May 18, 2021 - Cleveland Construction, Inc. celebrated the topping out of the Homewood Suites Louisville, located at the southeast corner of Central Ave and South Floyd Street across from the University of Louisville’s Cardinal Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky.

Over 100 people were on site for the celebration, including the project’s trade contractors, architecture firm, engineering team, and hotel developer. All in attendance enjoyed a BBQ lunch and a short ceremony and received a commemorative hard hat sticker as a small gift.

The project includes a 5-story, 100,253 square-foot extended-stay hotel with 134 hotel units, a fitness center, meeting room, grand lobby with breakfast pantry, and an outdoor pool with brick-clad screening. The hotel is scheduled to open to the public in the Spring of 2022.

“The team has gone from an asphalt parking lot to topping out with precast concrete and loading-bearing CMU in under seven months,” said Elliot Christiansen, Cleveland Construction Vice President of Construction.” “Unforeseen underground contaminants, rain, and a pandemic haven’t stopped work since we broke ground. From our site management to our trade contractor, the chemistry this team has is incredible. Reaching this milestone on schedule has shown that we have a team that’s working together and having fun doing it.”
